New Owner. Oil Pressure Issue and Exterior temp sensor location

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I'm the new owner of a 2000 fabia 1.4 8v.

Apart from what I'm hoping are a couple of minor issues the engine is running perfectly. It's done 33k miles, full service history, and one lady owner.

When I picked the car up last week the oil light flashed on and beeper sounded shortly after starting. With plenty oil in the car, I had no choice but to drive the 40 or so miles home. The light only comes on when reving over 15-1800rpm and goes out when sitting in traffic.

I've just done an oil and filter change, with wynns flush, and I've changed the oil pressure sensor to no benefit. The old oil looked fairly clean.

There is no signs of emulsified oil under the filler cap, the coolent and inside of the header tank are spotless and the coolant temperature stays steady with no signs of overheating. when the engine is running a there certainly feels like a good amount of pressure if you remove the oil filler cap.

Any help on what to do next would be greatly appreciated.

The speedo was also on the blink but this was easily traced to a bit of moisture in the conection to the gearbox sensor.

Lastly, the exterior temperature is ready between -25 and -35. I've got a new sensor but does anybody know where the sensor is located. I can't find anything in haynes.

Thanks to all for any help given.
