Yeti + winter tyres = awesome

Featured Replies

Hell of a trip home tonight. A6033 over Oxenhope Moor (up and over the Pennines) at about 6.OOpm. A blizzard of wet snow on ungritted frozen roads. In front a long queue of stop start traffic, cars in front suffering wheelspin and squirreling around each time they tried to get going. Seeing the offside lane was clear (nothing coming down) I simply pulled out and past a long row of cars. Eventually came to the cause of the delay, a big truck and three or four cars sideways across the road, grip lost and slid back and they couldn't get going again. Got out for a quick recce on foot, and saw that there was a way through - slaloming between the stranded vehicles. Back into Betty, no drama, pulled away, wriggled through and home safe. The rest of them are probably still up there.

I do love a happy ending!

And you didn't offer to tow the lorry.....shame on you.....emoticon-0140-rofl.gifemoticon-0140-rofl.gifemoticon-0140-rofl.gif

Hi Steve

Bleak bit of moorland that road. Great to hear Betty did so well with her Goodyears.

Think you can get some sort of porta potty in case you get caught short. :D

If you happen to have to jump out remember not to face into the wind!

Cheers

Use what the train drivers use...............a wide necked bottle, like a Lucazade one!!

One of those times when a Drive Recorder would have been handy. B)

(and not for the prostrate issue either) :giggle:

Dead right, they've been amazing so far. Waiting till we get some serious snow on our track before I pass final judgment.

Yup, I've stood on top of that moor, in the layby by the wind farm, carefully checking wind direction. Apologies to anyone from Keighley, 'cos I reckon it could have carried that far. :giggle:
