VRS SUSPENSION ON OCTY 4X4

Featured Replies

Dose anyone know if i can fit vrs estate suspension on my 4x4 estate its like a boat .

It will physically fit but your probably better getting something designed and tested for your vehicle.

This is a joke right!?

You want to lower the ride height of a car designed to go off road?

The higher suspension by its very nature will result in more body roll.

I reckon it would make more sense to buy a vRS if you prefer spirited driving?

No joke mate i did want a vrs pd/cr but this 1.9pd came up fully loaded low millage 6speed 55mpg as well and was to good to let go . I just want a more responsive factory ride like my old mk1 vrs .

I wonder if it's possible to get stiffer springs without reducing the ride height?

I wonder if any coilover would fit because then take advantage of 4x4 with stiffer lower suspension doesnt sound so bad anymore. I know the look maybe is not there but... B)

What about suspension from an A3 quatro sports back?

55mm lower, should improve things : Clicky linky

H&R also do a coilover kit for the 4x4.

You may find that with the better dampers you could run this at the stock 4x4 height and still have a better handling car that OE, retaining also your offroad capability.

Or, run nice and low for handling and looks, but still with the option to wind it back up in the winter snow or if you need to go offroading..?

Best of both worlds?

It didnt on the Mk 1 Octys so are you sure on the Mk 2

If you can afford it KW V2 or V3 is the way to go

Kw don't make a kit for the 4x4.

They didnt list one for the Mk 1 4x4 but when I contacted KW in Germany they did, I ran v2 initially & then the V3 which were definately better, might be worth a phone call to the english agent or even call Germany which I did, they spoke excelent English & were incredibly helpful, agreed that was all a few years ago when the Mk1 was the current model

NO Mate. It's 4 wheel drive but it ain't a Land Rover.

The Old Bill have them, do you see many patroling the fields in your area?

I don't know about vrs suspension but my local dealer had no problem fitting the springs from a normal octavia to my 4x4 when the rear ones needed replacing - it did look a bit strange but handled o.k. I still insisted that they fitted the proper ones = maybe I should have lowered the front as well!
