Suicide Doors

Anyone elses doors not stay open that well, sometimes swinging back and trying to kill you? Is this a feature or are my door hinge things worn? :D

I find that quite useful, personally. I jump in the car pretty quick and she shuts the door for me. :giggle:

By the way, shouldn't it be 'homicidal doors'? Surely if they were suicide doors they'd let you kill yourself... :p

Lol! I have this as well - can be quite useful! Probably the hinges wearing out! :wonder:

Just curious as to if they do that from new or not. Doesnt bother me too much as I am careful but it keeps catching the wife and the boy got a smack in the face the other day too.

Though as said above if you are quick getting in its like auto door closure. :giggle:

Mine do exactlyvthe same and have caught my little girl a few times. I tell her it the car getting her bk for slamming the door lol.

Mine do it to, damned annoying!

You have to remember that doors are quite heavy items and unless the car is parked on a level sevice the doors will try to close, i dont think its worn hinges, just well maintained ones :) I park mine on an unlevel drive and I regularly get hit in the back so I now get prepared for it. It cant be much fun if your a small child though.

But you're forgetting the door straps have ridges to "hold" the door at certain angles.

They dont hold very well at all, dont know if its worn or a design fault. None of my previous cars and the wifes current Civic have this "feature".

It is character building for the child! :giggle:

If you think the 'normal' doors are fun, try a door loaded with extra sound deadening, fibreglass and speakers with cast cages
