Can I completly remove the A/C system from the Octy without causing any problems elswere?

If you removed the AC pump you would need to re-route the Aux belt as it would be too long....

As above you will need a shorter drive belt

Although you could remove anything else, and just leave the A/C pump there. The question maybe is why do you want to remove it? To save weight, or is it simply broken and you don't want to fix it?

Doable if you can bothered. Get the dash controls and belt from a non-AC'd 1.8T Octavia, and other assorted gubbins....

Pretty hard to imagine life without AC though! Nothing better than the smug feeling of sitting in a baking hot traffic jam with all the windows shut and just chilling out, while the porpers sweat to death in their ovens!

The Americans do it when they "shave" their engine bays. Needs the belt from a non-AC engine. I am intrigued as to why you want to do it.

My dads compressor packed up on his octy 2 and a shorter belt was much cheaper than a new compressor. I live in the UK and it does not get that hot, even in summer. I find that if I wind the window down, that is not too bad. I guarantee that it's warmer in Afghan during the summer and I didn't have a/c there but survived! To finish this post off, where are the common places for a leak in the a/c system of a ren-oh scenic?

I never use the AC in my octy in the last 13 months of ownership. Much prefer to have the windows down in summer

I would rather lose 50 HP than the climatronic
