In both cases what do I order to get full hands free mobile phone use?

It appears to my non technical mind that the SE+ comes with all thats required

or is it just 1/2 the story?

Hi Kibby,

Both models have multi function steering wheel and bluetooth prep as standard, so you do not need to add anything else, BUT do check compatibility of your phone with the Bluetooth system.

How do I check compatability....is there a published list of compatible phones?

So 'Bluetooth prep' means full bluetooth functionality then?

I have an Elegance and the phone is completely handsfree indeed........ very easy to use too I should add.

All retailers have a list of what phones are compatible, along with functions that either do not work or are a bit intermittent (Some Blackberrys spring to mind).

As long as the phone is compatible it really is as easy as pie!

Do they both have:

4) house number accuracy

or are they just basic systems?

Main differences between Amundsen and Columbus are???

Also seen mention of Amundsen+ system with Dab option??

About time a combined FM/DAB unit fitted as standard.

I assumed the compatabilty list related to each Skoda unit and NOT the bluetooth generic system and each

make of ICE unit having a unigue phone compatability list. Obvious now not the case.

Any update on features 1) to 4) above and their implimentation on both models??

I will be as accurate as possible here:

* 7 digit postcode on both-however just delivered Octavia with Amundsen and couldn't find postcode so it is a tad tempramental. Columbus is good as gold though.

* Speed camera notification i am not aware of at present, same with speed restriction,

* Points of interest are on both, although have not personally used the option,

* House number is also available as well.

To be fair, the Amundsen is a great little system but I do prefer the Columbus (nice big screen and it does seem to run quicker). Try them both out if you can.

DAB wise i have not heard of the system having DAB but it is out there with other manufacturers so possibly will be along soon.
