Hi all

Ordered new superb 140cr dsg elegance estate on nov 1st,del 16 weeks.test drove 170bhp.After weeks twoing and throwing since placing the order decided to ring dealer to change to 170bhp but too late!! car already built. So I am a little worried that 140bhp is not going to be enough for such a big car.does anyone have a 140cr,should I be worried?

Quite a few threads here and on Yeti forums about chipping the 140 up to 170 and higher if not enough.

I have a 140 CR and even with my 'press-on' driving style, find that it is more than capable; and this is with only 3,500 miles clocked up so far. I have never had to abandon an overtake due to lack of progress, even when passing four cars uphill this morning.

Nah, you'll be fine.

I went from the 170PD in a Passat to the 140CR in the Superb (I chose the Elegance-spec at 140 rather than SE-spec at 170).

Whilst there was a noticeable difference, I don't regret it, especially as I get nearly 10MPG more out of this.

I find the 140CR adequate for what I need - plenty of ooomph when you need it, overtaking etc

Coming from a Octavia 105PD (via an Audi 140PD) to a 140Cr - the CR is much smoother, although engine is still pretty tight at the minute. 3000 miles only.

i think the 140 and 170 have the same torque figure (i think!) and i have done around 9k in 3 months of ownership...i've found there is plenty of power and the car never feels lacking.

Slight difference in Torque figures 320 versus 350 Nm both produced at 1750 and 2500 rpm
