What upgrade to do next?

My fabia is running at 163 bhp should be running at 170-175 according to shark had it tested for a boost leak but didn't find anything, what else could the problem be?

Anyway I'm wanting more power but don't know what upgrade will be best to do next? It's just re-mapped at the moment along with a few suspension upgrades.

What would you advise?

There's not much you can do is there?, probably fmic first, then turbo, then clutch then new map?

I'm happy with how it stops at the minute don't really brake hard anyway.

What about a Decat exhaust?

I don't think the exhaust will make much difference, the standard system is pretty good up to somewhere near the 200bhp mark.

Looking at getting the turbo done/FMIC etc... that actually adds power.

Any other mods now will need another remap to get the best out of them too.

Then you'll be looking for an uprated clutch probably too.

IMO either fix your problem or accept there isn't one. All the time you've got the figure of 175bhp in your head and you're only getting 163, you're just going to spend more money on things and then get annoyed at the vendor because your power figures are low.

There's nothing wrong with 163bhp as long as it drives well (and take this from a man who bought a "240bhp" car which turned out to be 200, so I know how you feel ;)) but until you're happy with it it's pointless spending more money. It just means that you've got a car with a flashy exhaust and an FMIC which you're still not happy with and then stand more to lose on it when you get too annoyed with your low figures and sell it.

Maybe, it depends what your problem ACTUALLY is. Like I said, find the problem first or just put it out of your mind. Spending money on fixing a problem that might not actually exist is just silly (unless you're happy to spaff £500 or whatever on an FMIC and then make exactly the same power as before).

If you can DEFINITELY put your power loss down to high intake temperatures then knock yourself out and buy an FMIC, I just think it's silly spending money when at the back of your mind you're only doing it because you think you're down on power, and you'll then kick yourself if it makes no difference.

I know what your saying. I was told by shark it's down by 10 bhp I didn't even know but now I know I want it back!

I'm surprised Shark have told you that tbh, I didn't think Ben got too hung up on actual power figures, just the drivability. Their website says 165bhp from a stage 1 Fabia vRS map anyway so you're only 2bhp "down", I'd just put it out of your mind and concentrate on how it drives (and as I said, you're talking to a man who found out he "lost" 40bhp thanks to Shark, and I'm still much happier with their map on my car than I was when I first picked it up!)

RR figures from a garage are not 100% accurate and they never will be. They will give you an idea of power, and the curve but that is all. How many times has it been on the rollers? I`d bet you could stick it on another and it`d make 170, 180bhp? If it drive well and there is no issues then dont get hung up on it just enjoy it.

Do you have access to VCDS? Maybe carry out some logs on the MAF? Or check all the boost pipes?

The turbo is your limiting factor. More power requires bigger turbo.

By far the best thing you can do to improve lap times, nothing else will touch it IMO.

To get 200 your looking at a GT1749VB hybrid. They have a larger compressor wheel.

I've had it RR twice at 2 different places and it made the same.

Is that just with a remap and a bigger turbo your getting 200?

I don't have it but the turbo is the limiting factor. Along with the turbo you'll need a better intercooler.

Would you say best off getting a FMIC next before a bigger turbo?

Save and do it all at once so you dont have to mess around with the remap each time.
