Any idea if repair kit available to fix leaking steering rack

Also is there any protection on the electric pump that prevents it running

after total fluid loss due to leak or does the pump run till its seized.

I couldn't find any when I was looking, but the trade must have access to them.

RE the second - I had my power steering pipes clamped shut once (not by me!) and the car triggered the PAS light on the dash, with a pump overheating error message, so it would suggest it can keep track of its own temp, but if it will shut down or not I don't know.
