Heater Controls Backlit?

Featured Replies

Can somebody have a look in their Octavia for me and tell me if the heater controls are backlit or not? Mines aren't and it's a real hassle trying to adjust them in the dark (I've had to actually pull over and put the map reading lights on to see what I'm doing lol). Maybe the bulb has just gone, or maybe it's a Skoda oversight :(

Cheers

Yeah, should be backlit...check the fuses first, then the bulb... :)

There is a very small bulb, which has probably gone. You need to remove the fan control switch - It pulls straight out, with a bit of effort - I used pliers with plenty of cloth padding to prevent damage. You should then see the very small bulb sat in the middle of a green plastic housing.

I've heard of people slipping a plastic tube over the bulb and it comes out when pulled, but I used some long nosed pliers (again with padding) - remember to pull just the bulb, not the green plastic !

I agree the controls are a bugger to find in the dark if the bulb has gone !

I had that in my old 1.4. It turned out to be a relay! The Boot light was also gone untill the relay was replaced!
