vRS TDI 170 CR Injectors

Featured Replies

Went in to the local dealership I got my car from to get a rear wheel bearing replaced and they asked if my injectors had been checked, don't really know the exact details but through the full VAG range some of the cars have the wrong injectors in them, just had mine replaced today and new wiring put in all for nothing as it had the wrong ones in. My car is a 08 plate Octy vRS TDI 170 CR, just a heads up for anyone with the same car of similar age.

Apparently the problem is that if 1 injector fails the rest go with it so your car just cuts out.

You hav'nt got a CR engine if you had injectors & wiring replaced , it only affects PD engines. Think the dealer might be confusing things

It's 100% a CR, only just came up to be re-called though had not even sent the letter out to me yet it's just chance i was in the dealership at the time, either way I can't argue with free injectors and wiring for nothing... still have all the receipts to show they have done it if i ever found that they had fitted the wrong ones in mine by mistake.

Why have the car messed about with when its not needed? Quite a few people are experiencing problems following the swap. Could be opening a can of worms for yourself for nothing...

I have just bought a crimbo & the dealer said that they had checked the injectors as it was a new recall

An 08 car isn't a CR, it's. PD.

I'd bet your engine code is BMN (inside the service book or on the sticker in the boot)

Gotta be a pd!

CR Injectors are completely different as Tech1e says its a PD BMN

Just went through all of my paperwork, still got the advert sold as a CR but found a validation certificate stating vehicle model is "Octavia 2.0TDI PD vRS Man 5"... That's Derek Slacks for you, thanks for bringing that to my attention lads... This is yet another chance for me to burst in the dealership and make a scene :D Oh yesss! Got to love a bit of false advertisement.

It's 100% a CR

Would sir like a large portion of humble pie to go with his foot B)

Well after all of my documents saying its a CR apart from this one I have found It was 100% in my mind it was a CR but I do admit when I am wrong, so how about a slice of this pie you are talking about :D

Looks like Slack by name, slack by nature

Surely the chassis number etc should have told them it was a PD, so that is a major **** up on their part

That's not the only major **** up on their part, I have only just got the problem sorted that my car got delivered with 9K miles more on the clock than what it was supposed to have, that's took me 6 month to get sorted this is likely to take just as long... I suppose on the positive side of things I can now get a Self Tuning System when I get the car mapped as it wasn't compatible with the CR.

Just bob back in and ask them when they plan to fit the CR engine that they sold you!

How on earth did they manage to miss print the mileage by 9,000 miles!? I hope you got a chunky refund off them?

Well in the skoda manual they have the depreciation on the car for 9000 miles for the same car was £425 which must be wrong anyway as thats not a lot for 9k, but they had no cash to refund me with so I have ended up getting a free MOT, Major Service, Diamond Shine, Wipers all round, a touch up pen and the pleasure of pi***ng the sales manager off by calling him all the names under the sun in front of a few customers :D

If it was me the mileage would be the lesser evil, the fact they sold a PD as a CR surely would be sufficient, if you wanted, to seek a total refund or replacement for the same money and mileage

sounds like the sales have dropped a ******* but the after sales have kept you wright not fair to tarnish the hole garage over the faults of one part
