VRS interior swap

Featured Replies

Would love to fit VRS seats and door cards to my octy estate as I have seen a few on e-bay. Just wondered though does the interior from a VRS hatch fit an elegance Estate. They look the same in photos but don't want to take the chance.

I think the rails are the same. So it should be a straight swap. Minus the door cards ofcourse.

Cheers again DBP. It was the rear door cards I wasn't sure of. Are they smaller in length or shape? I know the upper part of the door round the window is obviously different, but the door card bits look similar. Would the back seats fit ok as I know on a lot of estate cars they change the rear seats a little requiring different rear seats?

Seats are the same, back door cards are similar but not the same. Ive modified Fabia hatch rear door trims to fit an estate but not Octavia ones, only required a small end cutting off that wasn't noticeable.

What had to be cut? if thats all that's needed on an octavia it would be worth it I think. :)

Be aware as well that the VRS interior does not have side airbags. So you will get problems if you don't fool the ECU into thinking they are not fitted.

IMO a set of seats from a Leon / Toledo or Golf might be better to swap into your Elegance spec car. I have a Leon Cupra/SE set in mine, which retain the airbags and match the std grey door cards quite well.

I wasn't aware mine had side bags either :(

oh wait, the're in the seat aren't they hmmmmm.

Why did they not fit them to a car (vrs) that would potentially see the wrong side of a hedge more often? :|

When I went to buy Luca's (OET) interior out of his hatch, the rear door card are quite dramatically different to my estate. Far too long at one part, and a very different shape towards the rear.

Don't even try it...

Cost I would imagine, probably the same reason no mk1 except the pd130, got a 6 spd 'box. The Leon seats bolt straight in but may not have the seatbelt engaged warning light wiring. Just short the two wires together.

It was really for the whole thing incl. the door cards too, to liven up the interior. I wouldn't imagine the door cards from the leon fit do they. I really should wait for a VRS estate model interior, but I may become old and grey before then

Well, you could just carefully cut the trimmed centre panels out of the door cards and glue them back onto the originals. That's what Luca had done in the first place (they were partial Audi S3 cards onto Octavia backs). I decided against trying it again as the glue looked a lot firmer than the panel itself.

There's actually quite a few estate vRS being broken around. I'm about to part with all my seats too, but they need a good clean, and the driver seat wants a base and probably the bottom cover too, or at least a bit of stitching work.
