How can water get behind the angle sensor in the rack?

Featured Replies

Anyone know? Got me confused. After wet weather - the angle sensor on my car gradually gets water behind it which eventually makes the system throw a wobbly - causes voltage drops as PAS pump is getting all kinds of dodgy signals, then it just dies... This time it has bought some time drying out the sensor, and the housing (carefully position hair dryer....) and its working fine again. I just want to know WHERE the water can be getting in behind the sensor. No way it can be from the sensor connection itself - it has a very good rubber seal and is done up tight. Has to be coming from above it somewhere.

If its coming in through into where the hall blades are unless the rack is damaged its go to be coming in past the seal on the sensor body where is clamps to the rack.

Is it the PD100 rack still?
