Hi, I am sure you've had this question or similar before, but I couldn't find it... so sorry if this is annoying!

I just wondered if you have to use specific Fabia windscreen wipers or whether standard wipers can be used? I tried to replace my blades with standard ones prior to my MOT and couldn't do it (I'm used to changing blades on various other cars, so this came as a surprise!), so I've now delayed the MOT until our car can pass it! If you could confirm whether normal blades can be used I'd be very grateful as I'm a bit broke at the moment and they're considerably cheaper... additionally, if so, is there something I have to do to make them fit by saving any of the pieces from the original blades?

You can buy the flat blade wipers from places like wiperblades.co.uk. There is no point in trying to fit 'standard blades'

Thank you very much for your advice. I've eventually found a car parts company selling them for a reasonable price, but I'm amazed about those £10 blades! Not £3 cheapies from Wilkos, but infinitely better than £20!
