There both netgears cant remember the models and ill not be home untill monday now that i know what it is im looking to do i might get on a bit better.

As long as you have a network lead to connect to the second router you are fine.

Find out an IP address for Router 2 e.g. Router 1 = 192.168.1.1 Router 2 = 192.168.1.2 DHCP Range on Router 1 = 192.168.1.3 - 192.168.1.254

Login to router 1 and change the DHCP range to exclude router 2 IP address

Plug your second router into a machine not connected up to the network and login

Give Router 2 the IP address e.g. 192.168.1.2

Setup Wireless Settings SSID and Password

Turn Off DHCP on Router 2

Reboot Router

Plug the network cable into one of the 4 LAN ports on Router 2 NOT the WAN/Internet Port

Reboot router 1 and router 2

Search for router 2 and connect.

I have the same setup in a remote area in our building using Netgear Routers

Hope that helps!

Thats pretty detailed ill give it a go next week thats very much for the replies.

use a wireless access point, if not any old wireless router will do, turn off the section that sets it to act as a DHCP server and connect the cable to one of the LAN ports and all will be well.

Should have bridging then.

You just need a Wireless Access Point, this will patch into your existing router using the network cable you mention that is already installed, power the WAP up and you will see two different wireless networks.

Theoretically it will be as easy as that!

About £20 quid, I haven't used these so couldn't comment on quality but it is only £20!
