P2127 & P2138 faults.....what next?

Featured Replies

2006 Octavia 1.4

Hi, I've done a bit of scouring on-line but I'm a bit stumped as to what to do next.

for the last wee while Ive had my ABS and ASR warning lights on. The car is due its next service in Feb, so thought I could hold off till then to get it seen too......that was until last week when while driving my ECP light came on and the car dropped into limp mode. After turning the car off and re-starting it a few times in rapid succession I was able to get going again, albeit with the warning lights still on and a noticed reduction in accelaration (which to be honest I kinda expect with the ECP problem being displayed). Diagnostic computer returned the following faults :

P2127 - Accelerator pedal Position sensor 2 curcuit low voltage

P2138 - Accelerator pedal position sensor 1-2 correlation

looking for a step for a hint in the following areas

1/ is this an issue that can be fixed with replacement/repair of a plug in component?

2/ is it do-able by a keen but not overly technically gifted octavia owner :) , or I'm I best getting a mechanic to sort it?

3/ is it linked to my original ABS/ASR issue

4/ will this cost me a fortune? :S

cheers for any advice you can give
