501.

I bought some of the 5 LED ones (White Xenon) from eBay for my number plate lights. Look much better, cost about £3-£4 posted i think.

Did this mod cause an error code or anything?

Haven't checked VCDS for any codes but i've had no warning lights on the dash!

Do you need to fit extra resistors when you fit these? I guess not but worth an ask!

Thanks for that I will be buying them this week then!!! :D

There just led bulbs? Plug them in and away you go. I've had mine for a while now. piad like £3ish off ebay from aceparts.

Fair enough, just know from my Corrado that LED bulbs i'd looked at before would have needed extra resistors. Think those were only indicators though. :)

Depends on the voltage rating of the package .It culd be that the package is a 12v one . Otherwise it's calculation time .

You need to know the forward voltage drop of the LED ,at it's ideal current .

Then you need to subtract that from max voltage ( circa 13.8) . So is forward volts =1.2( EXAMPLE ONLY) ,this gives 12.6 .

Then divide this by the current ( let's say 20mA= 20/1000A=.02,EXAMPLE ONLY) TO GET RESISTOR VALUE = 12.6/.02 = 63 OHM . Nearest value is 62ohm ( FROM Maplin VALUES) .Next we look at power .,which comes from formula p=I*I*R =.02*.02*62 = .025W so a standard .6 w metal film resistor would suffice in this case .( power = amps*amps*resistance)

Hope that helps in the confusion in finding resistor values etc for packages .

there are so many to choose from.....has anyone got a link a good set?
