Fault code 00496; Xenon level sensor

Featured Replies

Got this from a scan of my car:

Address 29: Left Light Labels: None

Part No: 1U0 941 651

Component: EVG GDL + AutoLWR 0002

Coding: 00005

Shop #: WSC 31480

VCID: F0F25C50B0B8B34

1 Fault Found:

00496 - Sensor for Vehicle Leveling; Front

07-00 - Signal too Low

Is there a label file for this controller anywhere?

Is there a way of looking at the value from that sensor? What measuring block channel is it?

Check the connection and condition of the sensor (Fitted Nearside inner wing)

Saw this from Uwe on another forum (Subdriven)

Post values from Measuring Block group 002.

Field 1 should be the voltage from the front level sensor and it should be between 1.6 and 3.0V.

Field 2 should be the voltage from the rear level sensor, which should be between 2.0 and 3.0V.

-Uwe-

I take it that's measuring block 2 when looking at module 29?

thanks

Martin

Also, anyone know of a procedure for setting level on mk1 Octavia? The ones on the Ross Tech wiki only seem to relate to newer models.

  • 3 years later...

The error occurred to me after I mounted adjustable suspension and got off the car -10cm
