Hi Gizmo,

Yes, I found that information on the Wiki, but I was hoping for a more, erm, simple explanation. Is it something I need to worry about, or indeed do anything about?

cheers,

Martin

...What does this "Single wire operation" mean?...

The bus is a balanced, twisted pair of wires. If one wire is broken, the system is configured to use a single wire, referenced against earth. Single wire operation is much more prone to interference.

Is it possible to trace this and fix it without stripping the car to bits?

It is only affecting the comfort bus. The problem with this fault, is that it could be either a wiring problem or a faulty module on the bus such as a door module. Corroded contacts can also cause this problem.

Sometimes the CCU can get confused. In these cases, disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes will do the trick.
