VRS Fuel economy

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. This is my first post but I have been using this superb forum for info since I decided to buy a VRS.

I bought a PD VRS 07 model after owning a Golf TD 170. I was disappointed with the fuel economy of the Skoda. 41mpg compared with 52mpg from the Golf in exactly the same conditions. A full filter service made no diference [usually changing the fuel and air filter improves things as most of you will know]. Also fitted a set of winter tyres - no difference.

Thanks to the posts on this forum got my injectors replaced under warranty by my local Skoda dealer. No quibbles despite the fact they did not supply the car.

The difference is astounding. Smoother running motor and 50mpg and I was probably driving harder than normal!

Dealer told me they had done three other 06/07 VRS cars that day!

In view of the other posts about these injectors I recommend you get onto your dealers right away and get the warranty claim in before Skoda change their mind.

Verdict: 10/10 to Skoda and my dealer.

Jolly Dee, good economy improvement, and welcome to Briskoda
