1.6 TDI with 7 speed DSG there is a "a glitch" imho

Featured Replies

As above, I would appreciate if any others have experienced the same behavouir.

That is completely loosing drive or reverse when attempting to move slowly against a slope.

My car is now booked in for a full days diagostnics with Skoda, at least one senior mechanic admitting that there was some sort of a problem with the transmission.

After I demonstrated the behavouir on a slight slope.

I know a Golf driver with the same engine and transmission has experienced & described exactly the same "quirk", on the Honest John forum.

So this would appear to be a VW problem, not specific to Skoda.

I would add that I like the Octavia and the Skoda brand.

Note I have not yet changed my comment under "car" in my description block, her still be a hoot.

Cheers

Sniff,

Hi Sur, I be's Londonderry born, but my long distant Scots Presbyterian ancestry fits in well in the North Co Antrim. Though my background has too much genetic diversity to really properly belong

And yes JMH were distinctly more through & helpful than H. Abrahms from whom the car was purchased & was returned to with the same "glitch" some time ago.

I suspect that there may be growing complaints across the VW group vehicles about this "quirk" hence the more sympathwtic approach by Skoda UK.

Hence my post on here

And there is more, yesterday, after an overnight park up, and no more than a 1/2 mile from the house, in 5th at about 30mph on a trailing throttle,(a twisty wee county road) the transmission, i can only speculate, started "tugging" 10 or 15 times in 10 or 15 seconds, I asked Managment if she had noticed anything odd, yes she said, it seemed to be "tugging".

Hmmmmmm

Another one for JMH

cheers

I WUZ RIGHT!!!!!

JMH have confirmed the fault & ordered a replacment mechatronic unit.

On the one hand I am pleased, on the other hand I should be bloody ripping with Abrahms and Skoda UK for , in my preception, fobbing me off the first time around.

So anyone else with similar issues get on der bandwagen.

cheers

Marcus
