Featured Replies

I am looking to fit cupholders in my vRS and have found this thread

Just wondering why it can only be fitted in the passebger side.

Thanks All

It might be a bit close to the steering wheel.

SWMBO has one in hers - nice bit of kit but expensive for what it is.

Just fitted mine this weekend. There is a space behind the passenger side for the cup holder mechanism to fit into. there is no space on the drivers side.

Also fitted the rear extra cup holder as fitted to the Elegance just on case i get extra thirsty.

Matt

Can you post a picture and cost of the rear holder?

Yep pics please :D

Ok will take some pics and post tomorrow.

There's a drawing in the handbook

Can you fit this cup holder if you've put a different head unit in the car and so have a fitting adapter?

Here are some links to my dash cup holder and rear cup holder

Hmmm looks ideal for holding tea! I'll have to invest

Rear is about 1 minute. Simply pull out the standard ash tray and clip in the new cup holder one. Its easy.

The front takes around 15 mins. You have to prise off the front of the vertical thin blanking strip to the left of the stereo (where the cup holder will go)*

Undo the two screws holding the bracket located behind the blanking strip you have just removed.

Fit cup holder mechanism using the same screws.

*This job is much easier if you remove the stereo first.

edited: you also need to remove the heater control surround to gain access to the lower screw. Do this by gently pulling away so that it unclips.
