Elegance 1.2TSI with sunroof and heated screen

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm new to this forum and to posting in general but have found the various topics interesting.

We ordered a White Yeti 1.2TSI Elegance with a sunroof and heated screen on 31 December 2011. Dealer said he expected it to be available mid March which was fine but since then I discovered this forum and now worry it may be much longer. Particular worry as I want to avoid having to retax, MOT and service our Panda in April.

What do people think who have recently ordered/received a similar spec Yeti?

And as if by magic... :D

Our (well, my wife's) 1.2 DSG Elegance with the sunroof and other bits was built this week. It was ordered mid-October.

About three months.

We were estimated four and a half months to delivery, so it's not far out.

They usually take three or four weeks to arrive, that'll be four months total.

By comparison the diesels often take longer.

Our (my) other Yeti was ordered beginning of September and that's due to be built next week. This is why we ordered the diesel first and then let the garage estimate the best time to order the petrol so they'd be delivered about the same time for March.

Welcome to the forum.

I ordered 1.2 tsi DSG on 5th January, build date week 7 (13th Feb) so should be with me mid March. Yes, petrol Yeti's are coming through much more quickly.

I have posted this (or something similar) before but can't find it.

One big factor is 'Quota'.

Every dealership has a set quota, in lehmans terms, the factory will build each particular dealership through there quota, BUT for instance, one dealership may be able to have 2 Yetis built in (lets say January) whereas another has 1.

BUT then dealership 'A' may not have any quota for February whereas dealership 'B' could have 3, it then has a knock on effect (like Heathrow Airport..... :wall: )

So you then have a tad back log, but you will, and it has been mentioned, find that the petrol should (because nothing is guaranteed) come through a lot quicker than a diesel (as long as it is manual, as there is now another hold up on DSG gearboxes).

From our last update we have been informed to estimate lead times on petrol (manual) at around 12 weeks but you may want to add a couple for delivery.

Hope this helps.

Sunroof and heated screen shouldn't be a factor as long as the suppliers have them. This time last year they were discontinued due to demand.
