New Yeti

Having clocked up 500 miles since collecting our car late Monday this week, I've noticed two things I'd like advice on.

Do the two little leds in the roof light cluster give general, low level illumination over the lower cockpit area, or are they for something else?

In the engine compartment, there is an alloy "thing" which looks like an oil/water intercooler. I've got one on my MG TF made by KTM, of bike fame, and I was wondering if this was a similar sort of thing?

Hi,

yes those lights are for low level lighting; quite a few manufactures have started using them. my first experiance of such a thing was on the wife's previous Corsa but that was fitted in the rear view mirror housing.

There's a number of alloy things in the engine bay :giggle: but if your referring to something that resembles a sardine can on the front of the engine with hoses coming to and from and its got 'lines' around it's sides, that's the oil cooler.

Oh just remembered got a photo of the oil cooler as fitted to the 1.2TSI which is similar;

Hope that helps,

TP

Thanks, it must be an intercooler then as coolant hoses run in/out of it. Presumably there are oil connections - must have a closer look.

It just looked much the same as the intercooler on my TF. I was amazed when I found mine was made by KTM for Rover.

Not sure it would look as impressive with the Rover viking badge :giggle:
