Maxidot Instrument Cluster - Retrofit to VRS SE

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I know this topic has been discussed before, but the previous thread didn't ever seem to come to any conclusion as to whether it was possible and what (if any) other mods that just swapping out the Instrument Cluster and recoding IMMO/Keys.

I've done a bit of research into it, and basically I would like to swap the cluster in my VRS SE to a Maxidot enabled Instrument Cluster, from what i've found in ETKA I would require a cluster with part no# 6Y0920943S / 6Y0 920 943 S, based upon Skoda Fabia MK1 from 2007, with BLT engine code, in MPH (not KMH) and for skoda's with 'maxi-check package'.. .

Anyone done this, and know what extra work is required apart from either finding a used cluster and recoding/re-doing mileage or buying direct from Skoda?

Thanks,

Rich

I dont a bit of research about it a while ago. I remember someone getting to the point of having some bits working, the fuel gauge was backwards and various bits and bobs were not working or not quite right. I reckon its possible, but it sounds like it needs someone who can get their head around how things work.

I decided unless I was going to put the nav unit in it was too much work just to have the icons display on the screen. It would look very smart though, I just dont have the knowledge to do it. Another issue is finding one, as far as I could read skoda didnt have many left and I would expect finding a used one to be rather difficult.

Let us know how you get on though! Good luck

I've looked into this a few times.

Skoda said they could get hold of a brand new cluster, for £460+VAT, but then they couldn't guarantee it would work.

I think one member on here managed to get it working, but I can't remember his username.

I know WJA96 had it installed, and it was working, but his speedo was out, but that was because the cluster was actually faulty.

I think to get it working 100% you need very specific parts (like rev A over rev B etc) and it's pretty much undocumented from what I can gather.

Best of luck!
