lowering

Featured Replies

Depends on how low you want to go

the price difference isnt much which makes you wonder how you can get springs alone for £150 or coilovers for £160

If you really want to go low to make it slammed go for the coils otherwise avoid like the plague there rock hard and rust prone.

The eibachs however are a good option for lowering and handling but i think you can get them cheaper elsewhere they would get my vote on that budget of the two though

Tjose coilovers must be made of very cheap materials by the cheapest bidders with the bare minimum research, development and tesying for that price.

Also ref the springs. AwesomeGTI are expensive for pretty much everything imo. Guys like DPM are normally much cheaper and price match

Emmm without sounding like a total idiot...dpm?

Basicly i want it as low as practiacly possible and as cheap as possible but while still insuring quality.....if thats possible

Cheers mate think il be going for the H&R 40mm spring would rather have went lower but thatl do for now : )

The lowering springs if paired with the bilstein B8 dampers at a later date would essentially make it a Bilstein B12 setup, so your future proofed for further modifications.

Would there be a noticable difference fitting B8 dampers with H&R springs for example ?

Smashin : ) ....planning on going alot further once im on decent wages and not cr@ppy apprentice wages

Definitely. The fabia has crap damping rates as standard. (Drive a polo gti and you'll see what I mean)

Lowering the car will limit the amount of travel the dampers are designed to operateit which will only compound the issue.

The B8 dampers are designed for lowered cars from 30mm upto 40mm iirc and have very good damping rates so in my experience of driving cars with tthem you can expect a better ride quality and handling car.

I'm still considering them instead of coilovers and I do trackdays a fair amount, but it still spends 95% of its life on the road

i heard a lot of punto drivers use the cheap FK coilovers, they firm and don't expect them to last years
