Fabia VRS 4x4

Featured Replies

Not quite, but why does the VRS look as if it's on stilts compared to the other TSi hot hatches ?

It was the same with the Mk1, first thing I did was to get it lowered and it looked like it should have in the first place.

Maybe there's a technical issue here that I don't know about ?

It's because the Fabia mkII is a shopping trolley, tall and thin.

It's designed to be practical, even as a VRS which pretty much looks exactly the same as a regular Fabia.

So it's never going to look as sporty as a better proportioned/styled car.

Without wanting to start an argument, the mkI is better proportioned because it's not as tall.

So it's not as easy for people (with creaky knees) to get out of/in to.

This is why the mkII looks better as an estate.

Also, once again... the current Mk2 Fabia sits on an older platform.

The Fabia's height is one of the reasons we went for it (translation into the estates storage space).

With its 1.4 TSI 180PS engine and 7 speed DSG Gearbox, it makes for an incredibly economic drive and practicality for the performance.

Its also a skoda thing. The octavia also sits alot higher than the golf or leon.

The savings you make overbseat and VW equal comedy body roll :giggle:

+3 why I got a vRS Estate :D

Same here. Has much better proportions as an estate I found and it's not that tall and tbh if you find it is that's nothing a new set of springs won't solve

The Fabia Estate is Ugly IMO

So to sum up..Nobody can answer properly the question it would appear!! :giggle:

i dont think its actually very high, now the wifes 308, thats high and i can hardly reach the whole of the roof and im 5,10

Compared to random taller cars it's not. Compared to random shorter cars it is.

But it is noticably taller than the mkI Fabia which used the same platform. And it's quite thin, which exaggerates the height when you look at the styling fo the car.

That's exactly why. The higher suspension exacerbates the taller body.

Do you know what though, I'm a 6 footer and I could wear a hat in the VRS.

Why we need so much headroom is beyond me.

That of course applies to the range.

I do think that a dark painted roof gives the car a lower look.

Tell you what though Chris, a lowered estate would look smart I feel. If it weren't for the deal I got on mine, I would have gone for the estate and lowered it sensibly.

It was more because I really needed the space (2 big dogs)

I've seen one in black and loke it a lot.

What you all on about, the fabia isnt tall.......

Lol. The lowest car I've stood next to was a Lotus Exige and only came up to my waist

Im 5'9" and with the helmet on I had to have my head at 45 degrees whilst sat in that TVR. Not comfy when power sliding around the corners as a passenger
