7 Months in, I finally curbed the Monte Alloys.

Featured Replies

Hello all,

So Today I slightly curbed Monte, causing a small scratch that's only about 1cm long.

Because of the small size of the damage I don't want to go down the route of a total wheel refurb, and I'm sure I'll eventually chew the alloys again in the future.

So in the meantime I want to do my best to touch it up!

Question is, How? I've been searching for ages to find a touch up stick or something close but I just can't find anything. Does anyone know what the colour is?

Any Monte owners curbed their alloys yet?

Thanks!

Not Monty, but did my front drivers one on a 2" tall kerb yesterday. Sods law that's the same height as the edge of the alloy emoticon-0112-wondering.gif

Annoying isn't it? I've tried my best to avoid curbs, but then today I had to move out of the way of a fire truck and I heard that lovely bang when the metal hits the curb. The first thing I thought to myself was 'Well, there goes fifty quid.' :'(

Done my vrs alloys 2 weeks ago due to a lapse of carelessness : (

however may aswell sneak some advertisimg in hear iv got some wheels for sale over in the parts for sale section ;)

I dread the day I touch a kerb. Black(ish) alloys with low profile tyres are hard work!

I always lower my mirrors to park and will often open the door slightly to check alignment. (I mostly park outside the house driver side next to kerb)

I think if I did do a very small scratch I personally would use a tiny amount of Black Magic (or possibly mix it with Anthracite Grey) paint to cover the shiny metal. It is a very odd colour they picked for the alloys. Save the refurb for something a bit bigger :o

Hi. I haven't got the monte but have the monte wheels on my Fabia sport. Kerbed mine today and not really happy about it. Spoke to my mate who's really good in bodywork and he also does alloy wheel refurbing for £20-£25 per wheel (depending on the style) but after describing the damage he told me to hold the fire and wait for something worse and bigger to happen and then get them refurbed. Probably gonna use tiny bit of silver paint to cover shiny metal and refurb mine in future. PM me if you want yours done and willing to pay above for the refurb as I know that he's really good and not expensive.
