Unable to fit new rear wiper blade

Featured Replies

I ordered a Bosch A400H rear wiper blade (rear wiper blade) for my 56 plate Octavia estate, this is the blade the eurocarparts site recommends for my car and on the box it states it fits an Octavia Combi 04 onwards. However the fitting on the new wiper blade looks quite different to the one that's on the car already, as it's a solid bar the existing one has a sort of L shape for the blade to click into however the new one has a pair of holes instead. I've had a good search through the forum but can't find anyone else having this issue, have I bought the wrong blade fitting or is there some different way to fit it?

Thanks,

John

Is it the same fitment as the one you removed?

I've just replaced the rear wiper blade on my 2008 Octavia Scout Estate and it was a 20 second job...

No, the fitting looks different on the new one - just waiting for the weather to calm down to pop the old one off again and take a picture. What wiper blade did you use as a replacement?

John

Just nipped into the garage, I kept the box that the new blade came in, it is indeed a Bosch Rear A 400 H (400mm).

The pictures on the back of the box are identical to the blade and wiper arm of my Octavia.

Thanks for checking that, it's exactly the same part I have. I went out to get the old and new wiper in and take photos to show the difference but realised that while the new wiper is a different design, when I slid the head section up it would still fit my wiper so a few seconds later fitted on no problem. I guess they've revised the design slightly since the one fitted to my car but pleased the problem is down to my own stupidity rather than a problem with the wiper!

Thanks again,

John
