How are your gobi leather seats

Featured Replies

Hi All,

31k on the clock now so seriously thinking of ordering an elegance.

Fancied a bronze with Gobi leather but have never seen either.

The Gobi looks more mushroom than beige which is no bad thing.

how fragile is the gobi leather, will the nasty little claws of my mother's Yorkshire terrier mark the leather?

will my mates blue jeans and sweaty bum mark the seats?

Should I make him sit in the boot with the dog?

Anyone seen a bronze one yet?

These are the questions that keep me awake at night.

help appreciated.

Fuzzy :)

I have a bronze with ghobi on order, waiting firm build date over the next few weeks. Not sure about dogs and leather though! :giggle:

The Gobi does get a little dye transfer but it is easy to clean.

It is more noticeable with the Gobi than the black but I'm sure the black also gets dye transfer but doesn't show it.

My Bronze Yeti will be at the dealers on 25th and I should have it 5-10 days later. I didn't order Gobi though.

(1) One yeti.

(1.5) 1 and a half year of use.

(13000) Thirteen thousand km. on the clock.

(2)two children.

(5)Five gobi leather seats.

(0)Zero level of care about them -the seats, not the children-.

Aspect?

Quite good!! Considering all the a-m facts, of course.

Gobi and Amazonian green. Hmm. Think should have got black seats now. 12k miles and drivers seat looks a little shabby- will clean out I know but would be invisible on black.I often am muddy etc after fishing and walking so serves me right.

I know this is very much an "each to their own" subject and I think most people know I won't ever have cream/mushroom seats as I've been a bit vocal about this before (apologies to Gobi owners! :giggle: ). I really have better things to do with my time than to change my wardrobe so as to not wear jeans and/or spend time to clean seats...

Another thing which you need to look at (and is perhaps just something I'm peculiar about) is that when you get a cream/mushroom interior you also get a cream/mushroom dashboard... Nothing weird about that until you think about shadow gaps. The gaps between panels are all black. So on a black on black dashboard all these gaps are invisible and you do not see the ever so slight imperfections. Get the panels in cream/mushroom and those gaps scream at me with a vengence. Again it certainly does not bother most people but for me it puts way too much attention on the individual panels.

Perhaps you could carry some adult nappy's for your friend to wear over the top of his jeans, its the next step from carpet protection slippers.

As for the dog, i suggest a doggy bag...

The Demo YEti I had had the Gobi interior.

Up until that point I was looking at having the Gobi interior, but decided that it would be a mistake. 5 year old daughter, 9month old Springer Spaniel that loves the water. and Gobi just didn't go together.

Also as Johann has said the gaps looked huge.

On the plus side it made the cabine very light and airy.

I ended up ordering the Onxy

Thanks guys, thats really helpful.

Hadn't considered the 'gaps' issue thats something to think about.

time for a mooch around the dealers looking at interiors.

A cage for the dog and a towel for the mates butt might do it! ;)

Cheers, Fuzzy

Cage is by far the best way to go for a dog. But make sure you have a cage that has 2 doors, just in case you are involved in an accident and need to get the dog out through the rear doors rather than the boot!
