Indicator noise

Featured Replies

Why when I indicate sometimes the indicators are completely silent and other times they tick like a clock

They should tick all the time, but.

The indicators in the octy2 and superb2 are electronically controlled by canbus and not a traditional relay setup, the ticking sound you hear when indicating is played out via a speaker in the dash so you get the sound of a traditional indicator, without the speaker the indicators would be dead silent. Something is obviously wrong with the audio somewhere but I would not know where to start looking.

I think I have the same problem. Not sure if it has always been the case but I have noticed recently not hearing the clicks.

I noticed they are electronic when I drove without the seatbelt plugged in = No ticker.

Same on the Scout

There must be a clunk'n'click joke there somewhere.
