DMF and the vRS

Featured Replies

Talking to my favourite techie last night, and I was asking about the DMF on this model, and just how much more life I can expect out of it.

He claims that they've yet to have a broken one through their workshop on the Fabia vRS...Octavie, quite a few, but that's just about it apparently.

Anyone in here had one go on them yet?

SMF as and when as a replacement, not particulary recommeneded btw.

Mine didn't die altogether, but started to fail. Rumbling noises, sometimes difficult to get into gear (even after aligning gear cables), and felt "sloppy" when driving in traffic. Hard to describe, but you could feel something wasn't right under your left foot. But mine had a pretty naff map and an aggressive driver for about 82k which definitely contributed to it.

Think it was big jase on here that had his explode and take out the gear box as well when he had his yellow furby with the porker wheels

Yeah, I've heard stories of that as well, which is why it got changed when it started to go dodgy (as well as a Shark map which was much less spikey low down) rather than run it for thousands of miles.
