I have a fabia tdi 06 plate. The problem is that the heater/blower and rear windscreen wiper won't work for a few minutes after starting the engine. This delay seems to get worse in cold weather, sometimes not coming on for 3/4 miles of driving. Once on, it works fine!

If anyone can shed any light on this then I'd really appreciate it

I believe that these cars have some sort of electrical load management system on them. The battery could be so depleted or the charging system has a fault that it takes this time for these minor electrical items to be enabled.
