ITG Maxogen Induction kit

Featured Replies

can anyone explain why ITG has shown the induction pipe in this picture NOT connected to the grille intake ?

Surely there's no air behind the headlamp ?

possibly they have configured a intake from down towards the n/s/f fog light area to minimize the bend from the other side of the battery

Theres a high pressure section of air below the headlamp which is ideal for the intake tract. They would also have to go for a much smaller air duct to pass by the battery.

I remember seeing a CFD flow diagram of the front of a normal hatch back and there is a low pressure area at the front grill of most cars so its not such a 'ram effect' as you might expect as the air is forced up and over the bonnet instead.

This is why in the Mk2 Octavia vRS/Golf GTI/S3/Cupra etc, all the induction kits utilize the area behind the headlight as the source of cold air rather than the OEM front slam panel method.

I do agree that it looks equally as crap as the Forge effort visually.

You might be able to do something like this with the ITG

Might be worth speaking to Andy @ ITG about it.

Don't know why ITG put theirs over the battery terminal, I put mine under

Not sure due to size if you can put it to the front slam panel but shall give it a go when I get time

That looks better,
