My passenger side electric window on my vrs has stopped going up. It goes down but not up and I have to grip it with my hands on both sides and pull it back to the top.

However, this happened when I pressed the up switch and the was a massive bang which sounded like the glass shattering. So it sounds like something has broken.

Does anyone know what could have happened? It sounded quite serious!

Sounds like the clips on the window regulator slides have broken - it's a common fault.

Is it easy to fix?

How much (approx) would I expect to pay at a Skoda dealer.

If you do it yourself, you can use a repair kit. see http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/167489-fabia-window-regulator-repair-kit/

Take it to a dealer and they will replace the regulator. When you add in labour, it can easily cost £150+.
