Picture request please (vRS lowered 40mm)

Featured Replies

im thinking of lowereing my Fabia on springs and was wondering if anyone has any pics of one lowered by 40mm?

I dont want coilovers as I have heard it makes the ride unbearable, this is my daily driver so i wouldnt be able to cope with a rock hard ride!

Cheers,

Ilmor

A fabia on decent coilovers will ride a million times better than one just on 40mm springs. They will bounce all over the place, however my KW v1`s are spot on, its my daily, its fairly stiff but be no means "unbearable". Baby sleeps in the back fine

What springs are you looking at?

Apex roughly lower the car 40mm but the ride is awful with standard shocks. Way to bouncy.

Eibachs are the ones for a better ride and prolong your shocks as they're progressive springs and/but only drop to 25mm.

Coilovers only unhealthy if you go way to low.

But ignore this if it's just about looks. Lol.

Im undecided as i dont want to spend all that money to find the ride to hard for my liking... I was thinking of KW V1's myself. However a compromise would be the springs... :-/

It is both for looks and performance. I want to get rid of the gap between the arch and the wheel, however i am going to be doing some track days this year so would like the lack of roll for them...

Eibach springs in that cheap, so may as well save a little extra for some descent coilovers.

Stay away from apex 40mm though ;)

Lol, was just PM`ing another member in northampton who wants to hear my exhaust, could arrange a mini meet and you can see what my coilovers are like at the same time? Will be in a couple of weeks as im solid at work for a fortnight.

Thanks for the offer! Sounds good to me, im in Bugbrooke. However ill warn you now im only 19 ;) and i work shifts, saturday would be the best day for me.

I'm running Eibach coilovers at a 45mm drop and the ride is easily as good as standard. The ride only really firms up when you start chucking it about. I was worried the ride would be too hard but I'd recommend these to anyone. Although not listed for the Fabia VRS they are the Ibiza/Polo ones so they fit perfectly.

No worries, i`ll see what`s going on nearer the time and sort something out. Maybe PM me next week if you remember, i`v got a awful memory sometimes lol. I got my fabia when I was 19, only 22 now so not too far ahead of you

Kw v1s at a sensible height are far supiour than standard ride and would say are a better ride than eibach springs far more controlled ride

Cool, my memories sounds just as bad as yours though!
