XDS on Scout

Featured Replies

Hi you all :)

I read somewhere that i could activate the XDS differential with the vag-com. My question is simple: Can i do it on a Scout (4x4) ? Once it's 4x4, will it interfear with the all wheel drive system? does it worth it?

P.S.: What is XDS?

To avoid inside wheel spin in corners, a new chassis system, called XDS, anticipates conditions where one front wheel is likely to break free and preventatively applies braking force. Its interventions are smoother and more effective than those of the previous electronic differential lock, which responded to one-wheel peel after the fact and with a heavy hand.

Thanks

Hi Marco

I find the XDS a safety feature and it does work if and only if you push the machine to it´s limit.

3 options to choose from, 0 = normal 1= weak 2 = strong. The best is strong as you feel the abs system doing its work(tire noise)

I have it at the moment on weak(2) and is good enough for me. NOt has harsh as the strong.

Negative on this is that you try on purpose, for fun especialy in wet, to activate XDS and doing this the tires will thank you :giggle:

If you can activate this on the Scout can´t tell you, but on the next meeting in Oporto next month, don´t know if I can go, I will see this for you.
