Spare key and re-programming?

Featured Replies

Hello

I have had to use the spare folding key recently and i have noticed the following:

1. I don't get the "chirp" when locking/unlocking the car

2. The auto lights only come on for 10secs. then go off.

3. The car doesn't auto-lock when driving off.

If i use the other key, the above functions differ and are as per the maxi-dot settings i.e. i get the chirp, the lights are set for 30secs, and the car does lock when driving off.

Is there anyway i can get the 2nd key to do the same as the key i use to use?

Cheers

Do you have maxidot?

If so the second key can be set up just like the first one in the maxidot.(each key has to be coded, and it sounds like just your main key has been done)

If you don't have maxidot then it's either VCDS or a dealer to change the settings.

Yes, i do have the maxidot!!

Have a read of your handbook then and it will describe the procedure.
