I thought you liked low? B)

They will be shocking.

:thumbup::rofl:

I do :)

Just saying they go very low!

Loads of people in the VW scene use them, cause they're cheap and get you low B)

Suspension. You get what you pay for.....

I thought you wanted to improve the ride, you want with these, nothing wrong with your springs you just need better dampers, at the end of the day it will cost you more to fit them than what they cost, surely that says it all.

I wouldn't fit them myself, I was just interested in peoples thoughts? If I were to go for coilovers, it would probably be Weitec or KW, but I will more than likely take the same route as Alan and get a set of FSD's.

I was quoted £180 including 4wheel alignment for fitting coilovers from 2 garages who were performance specialists.

There was a set of these on ebay, brand new for £80, which never sold lol

Another option is the V maxx, very good price and Brimma is running these on his dieseal with good reports on ride and comfort!

All subjective. You'd need a ride out in a car equipped with what you're thinking of, to know for sure.

It was £ 248 for fitting mine , the rears were fine, but because the FSD`s had such thick paint it took nearly an hour each side at the front to get into the carriers, ( and he did not want to hit them with a rubber hammer! :giggle:) also droplinks and bushes fitted same time. The clamp for the rear anti-roll bar bushes was on its way out, the spot welding was well dodgy, so he cut off and used new bolts and nuts etc

I would gladly let Lee go for a drive in mine, but a bit far from Kent unless he wants a Holiday :giggle:

Thanks mate, sometimes I hate living in the Garden of England!! :'( A ride out in yours and then Brimmas would be brilliant, but by the time I have covered the fuel costs to travel to you both, I may as well just get a set of KW v.3 and be done with it. :giggle:

i have a few mates running FK coilovers they seem pretty decent.

Never rated FSDs that well tbh. My AP coilovers are far better.

Have you been in a car with 4090s the earlier ones were shocking :giggle:

Pagey, I think you already know the answer ref the cheapo coils. Google brings up some interesting info ..

Also, on fsd's, I thought they were designed for stock height or very small drops only?

:wonder:

Yep, designed with OEM springs in mind, but work well with a sport spring too, so 30mm or so.

That's good then, mine are -30mm.

What springs have you got fitted at the moment Pagey?

Honestly? Okay I fitted Pi springs and before anyone has a pop, they have been fine for 2 years, and I have heard that they are made in the same factory as H&R springs in Germany......

Anyway, defensive rant over :giggle: just to keep Harry happy, I think when the time comes I will be getting these

Edit: Steve, did you still want your mirror cover done?

Another idea......linky

Just over 200 quid for a complete set?

Yeah, honest question as I couldn't remember what you were running :) And if they work for you and you've had no issues then emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Cheers,

Steve

P.S. Yes please on the mirror; assembly hasn't arrived yet though....
