Whilst it is theoretically possible, when I looked into this recently there were no clutch manufacturers currently producing a single mass flywheel kit for this engine and box setup unfortunately.

As long as it is not a DSG, " I think " the answer is yes.

Still don't think there is one for the 2.0tdi yet. Only 1.9tdi. Had mine converted under warranty at 35K by my dealer but mines a 1.9.

There is loads of 2.0TDI Conversion kits, Guys obviously havent looked hard enough :giggle:

Helix Autosport- Helix make a SMF kit that either has a Organic Clutch (For Daily use) or Paddle Clutch (Endurance use), SMF will make a rattling noise

Sachs- Sachs make a SMF kit that has either Organic or Paddle Clutch aswell, SMF will make a rattling noise

Southbend - Southbend make a "SILENT" SMF, Comes in a few flavours, Stage 1,2,3 and then Daily or Endurance. The SMF in this kit starts of noisy for about 15 mins and then thats it. Sounds OEM

Darkside Developments Southbend Kits for O2Q

Darkside Developments are the UK Distrobutor for Southbend TDI Kits, they have fitted quite a few now, Ive got the Stage 2 Daily kit waiting to go into mine, should be fitted on thursday

Has anyone run a single mass flywheel for a decent period? I'd be worried about the extra stress on the gearbox...

I think me means a non performance SMF, the 1.9 for example you can get a dealer supplied SMF kit.

@Mud. I have had my SMF on for the last 15K now and haven't experienced any changes in the gearbox at all. It's very smooth, quiet and responsive. It's a complete transformation to the car. My dealer converted under warranty at 35K as the DMF was shot.

Mike Holroyd had his 1.9 converted about a year ago.

I drove his car straight after the clutch went in, it felt very nice and smooth but was slightly heavier than the new DMF and clutch that had gone in my 2.0TDi.

TBH I don't think there is any more stress on the gearbox at all. Just think about what a worn DMF can do with its juddering and uneven running and of course when they break up they can destroy your gearbox. I don't have any uneven or lumpy idling anymore and the clutch is smooth and more responsive. Also there is no rattling that some have stated on here,it's very quiet. The DMF was rattly and shaking the engine. Hope this helps anyone with a problem or is hoping to convert.

@Andyvee. Yesi agree it is slightly more heavy.

Thanks - it's at the back of my mind for when my DMF goes, I'm at ~58K now and I believe I'm on the original. Anyone else? 15K is a fair bit, but not moon miles!

Yeh im guessing he does, i think Valeo where talking of making a 2.0TDI non-performance SMF dont know how far they got with it!
