heating problems

Featured Replies

I have just bought an 03 Fabia TDI. Very impressed so far, but having problems with the heating. It heats up fine, but only seems to blow at the window and a little at the side vents. It does not seem to be blowing at my feet and turning the direction knob does nothing. Also it needs to be on number 3 to do anything, but this is a little noisy, thought it would still blow ok on number 2. help please,

The air direction is controlled by a cable, the cable could be detached from the control knob or it could have been removed in the past and not fitted correctly. Are you saying that the fan works on positions 2 or 3 only, or that it works on all positions but position 1 isn't enough to make any difference? I recall that the Fabia has 4 fan positiions, so if 2 & 3 only work it could be a faulty switch and possibly a reason for the direction cable having been disturbed, as someone may have already taken a look. If it was a fan resistor pack, I would expect the lower speeds to stop working first as usually the highest speed gets the full 12 volts.
