2009 Not an option

2012 Hmmmmm. Love it yet has limitations

Make sure you read the manual as I (nor dealer) was aware of how to switch on/off

ignition without starting vehicle. Dealer demo'ed car with engine running.

Only opens drivers or passenger door - not good if you have passengers

When alone - very good.

Warm-up time

2009 Forever - normally 10-12 miles of driving

2012 4-5 Miles max - quite quick by comparison

Sunroof

2009 Normal - Good

2012 Panoramic - Absolutely fantastic

Torque Chracteristics (Torque figures roughly equal but 2009 at 1500rpm, 2102 at 2500rpm)

2009 Gets into 6th gear quick quickly and able to hold well due to

low rpm torque chacteristics

2012 Around town generally gets into 4th quickly but difficult to get into higher gears

due to high gearing. Drops down more frequently to accelerate

Thoroughly enjoying new car - but needs to go back to dealer to resolve screetching sound when turning right.

Check your maxidot settings, it sounds like you have selective unlocking enabled.

Purely down to petrol engines being very thermally inefficient compared to a diesel.

Many thanks didn't think of that.

That's the reason I love this forum, always someone to help or advise.

Much appreciated.

That sound you are hearing is the petrol pump that you are dragging around behind you!!

Seriously,, I am VERY interested to read your views as I was sorely tempted to Order the V6 petrol Superb this time round since I only average around 9000 miles a year but I lost my nerve and ordered another 170cr instead (although in 4x4 this time)

Enjoy your new car and keep up the reports.

G.K.

Glad you are enjoying!

I am very pleasantly surprised at how many V6s are popping up. When I joined the forum, I was expecting hardly anyone to have one. At first, I couldn't see why anyone would chose the 3.6, but I did the sums, and it cost me LESS than it would have to order a 170 DSG from my local dealer  Less £££+More :strong: +4WD=

I understand that the v6 is probably smoother than the 170 DSG. However taking the 0-60 time out of the equation i reckon the 170 will probably keep up with it's v6 petrol brother all the way. The 170 is a really torquey unit and in sport mode is very good, I love mine.

I am all for smiles per gallon, and am pretty sure there will be plenty of smiles with your v6. Will be watching the thread to see how you get on.

i will second that my 170 is the bees nees cannot wait to have mine remapped then i will have 200bhp plus all that torq ooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhh
