need help

right first of all im running a mk1 fabia vrs, now ive just fitted my old avon ice touring tyres from my old mk4 golf these are 195 65 15 on steel wheels and fitted perfectly, until cornering where they rub somehow? now ive been and had 2 new goodyear tyres (winter) fitted to the fronts (where it was rubbing) on the way home the traction control light was constantly on even in 6th cruising at about 40-50 mph and still rub (slightly) any ideas please??? because the standard is 225 40 16 i would have thought 195 50 15 would be perfect????
