vRS owners try this for me

Featured Replies

I've found that when accelerating at appox 70mph (not above obviously) in manual mode in 5th or 6th, foot to the floor and change up it changes really violently, it goes in with a thud, is everyone's like that?

The changes are mire aggressive in manual or sport than in drive, noticeably so, but I wouldn't say it gies with a thud.....

No not found that in 5th or 6th, the only thud i've had is in manual 1st to 2nd as said in previous threads. But i haven't had this happen recently, hope you find the same!

Hmmm, strange then. I've had the 1st to 2nd you mention but thinking now it's all gears when in manual but really noticeable in high gears, I'll have to do some testing tomorrow and see, thanks for the input!

The higher the gear the smoother the change for me.

come to think of it, mine has "cluncked" when left in sport, and approaching a give way junction to a stop....... with the box changing down...

I also remember reading something about the seat community complaining about this, and seat saying its how the gearbox is made, and this noise is normal, and it may also clunk occasionally when going over speed bumps (although I havent had this) something due to the fact that its two gearboxes working as one (cant remember the exact explanation) but they said it was normal...

I'm just happy that the "other" fabia vRS's I have driven have reacted exactly the same as mine gearbox-wise

Mines clunks on down changes as well into 1st and 2nd its quite embarssing when your driving upto traffic lights and it makes a loud clunk and everyone turns around

Not found that I am in manual alot the changes are very smooth up and down but the car as 6554 miles on it and it's not run hard well only on a Sunday

S and Manual are more noticeable than in D as mentioned above. 1st and 2nd got sound odd with bumps but I guess being mechanical its going to make some noises?
