I think I'm the only to have had a bad experience with theses boxes lol darn thing clogged my injectors lol

Do these work? Is it not just resistors i cant afford a remap yet but dont want to mess my engine up.

Ran one of these for 3 years with no problems - you can tell its not just the Resistor in a Box type as it need connecting to both the wiring loom and has a separate 12v supply. Not as good as a remap but was a significant improvement over standard

+1 SWMBO's Golf (PD105) has been running one for nearly that long also, there is a very slight 'jerk' when the power comes in if you are very light on the throttle, but it made a huge improvement over std.

Completely what these guys said, remap much much smoother (well, it is a Shark) but box does give a decent improvement.

Gizmo - I encountered the same occasional jerk, so changed the jumper one place (I can't remember if it was up or down) and it cured the issue.

If anyone on here wins it, I might knock a few quid off the postage price

I will give that a try when it's a bit warmer, TBH though SWMBO doesn't notice it, but I feel it every time.

But then this is the same person who had to be told that I had changed her 'old' alloys over to winter tyres and alloys (completely different wheels!)

I ran one of these for a few years before getting a 170bhp REVO map. I must say changing to the map I didnt feel much of a power gain, just a better power delivery and the nice REVO power 'spike' around 3.5k revs. As long as youre a little gentle at low revs the Dragon box is a great bolt on piece of kit.
