vrs front bumper on non-vrs

Featured Replies

Will vRS front bumper fit my non-vRS skoda? Mine is just ruined and i have a chance to get one from vrs octy, best thing is it is the same color, so no re-spray needed. :smirk:

Any suggestions of what else i could get from vrs? :D

I asked for this as well, does all vRS comes with spoiler? :smirk:

I just hope he's not going to ask fortune for it.

My one is dark gray :)

brakes, hubs, interior deffo, steering wheel, turbo, wheels, if its there at the taking then take it! from what i can see, its hard to get hold of anything vRS without paying a fortune for it!

well, i don't want to make my non-vrs to vrs :D Just couple of bits... I asked about wheels already! And brakes, aren't they the same? :wonder:

First i asked him to sell me whole car, he said 'NO' :D

The non VRS 1.8T's have 288mm disc and caliper setup whereas the VRS has 312mm the only difference being the caliper carriers, discs and bigger splashguards so thats the only bits you need to pinch.

Grey interior is definately much nicer than the mustard one, I'm looking at a few 1.8T 4x4 Elegances with that interior at the mo.

Just changed rear brakes, so no point of getting those, but front ones i could get, altough mine is in good condition (will save vRS ones for next change) Depends on how much he wants for them ;) So i don't even need caliper? just carrier and splashguard?

Can i fit caliper carrier/splashguard from other then vRS Octy, to able to put 312mm discs?

Your calipers (and pads) will already be the same as the VRS ones you just need the carriers from the VRS which extend the caliper away from the hub, plus the bigger 312mm disks to fit. Pretty sure the rear brakes are the same on VRS/non VRS. The VRS is the only Octy that will have the 312mm splashguards too, the other ones have smaller splashguards to suit the smaller disks.

I've been thinking about 'how to/what I need to upgrade'. If he will give them for reasonable price, I'll take them. On ebay EBC brake discs with pads goes around £110, so not so bad.

i recommend Mtec and mintex combos. I had the Mtec discs with mintex pads on the bora and it made a world of difference! £120 direct from Mtec. Very Very good customer service as well.

Nice. 288mm or 312mm? Are those orginal brembo calipers? :o

The bottom pic looks like Audi TT calipers (same as VRS ones too) with 312mm discs?

top ones are 335s with genuine brembos,(note the rizla packet on top for size comparison) and the bottom ones are 288. :)

I think the vRS bumper is closer to the ground. Is that right? Or is it just that the vRS one looks lower because the standard one slopes more?

Yes, much closer to ground

Pretty sure the rear brakes are the same on VRS/non VRS.

Some (4x4's anyway) have single 256mm rear disks, whereas vRS has 256mm vented rear disks

I have a vRS bumper on my TDI. The hight is same, but it seems and feels a little lower, as the lower part face forwards as the non-vRS bumper lower part is bend backwards. But the vRS bumper fits only to a FL Octy. On a pre-FL Octy is the entire front end different and it doesn't fit. If you want a vRS bumper on a non.FL, you have to change the headlights, front grill, front panel and maybe some more :)
