air flowing around car no working

Featured Replies

hello, previous posted a fault and tried lots of ideas now ran out of em so any help from you whizz kids would be good!

i have octavia 1.9tdi elegence estate, and the heater works hot and cold in settings and fan works on all speeds but and this is the problem, the air doesnt fan through the vents!

the filter is new and not blocked, the circulation flap changes from outside to incar and i have a new fan and it works fine increases in speeds from 0-7 fine! but not much air is coming oout the vents? i can switch the vents to footwell and the air trickles out, i can then change it to center vents and it trickles out, and then i can send it to dimiss the window and it trickles out so obviously thes flaps are woring as they change the flow of the air! sowhy isnt the air flowing fast and freely through the car!

i have replaced the fan as originally i thought it was faulty but i can hear fan working fine, i have also stuuckanother fan in to make sure i didnt have a faulty new fan, somewhere fromm the fan through the air con/heater matrix it must be blocked? is there a way of checking or looking without the removal of the dash?

i had it connectect to a computer that only recorded a faulty fan til i replaced it and now no faults listed? also the air con doesnt seem to be working as the windows steam up when its on??? but no fault found with air con either! this issue is now getting to me cos its my business car and the climate is bloody cold!

please help as ive got no more hair to pull out!!!

Sure you haven't got a leak somewhere?

cant feel any air blowing out any where, where could it be leaking? and the matrix box is a sealed unit under dash isnt it?

Can you hear the fan speed up when you turn it up, are the vents to it clear, try to remove the plastic scuttle ( where the wipers are), it sounds like fresh air is not entering the system and is probably blocked with leafs etc. imagine a hair dryer works ok then cover the vent going in, it will soon stop, yours does not have a heating element , but your fan is working extra hard
