Hi

I have a 2007 1.9tdi Octy Elegance Estate, today the engine fans are staying on for some reason, VCDS shows no issues and the only thing i can see is an oily substance coming out the top of a sensor on the left side front of the engine bay (looks like it attaches to an aircon pipe) when i move the wires there is a hissing sound - can anyone help. To clarify the fans only run when ignition is on

Do you have climate? If so is it usually set to auto? This spins the fans on constantly to retain the set temp I think

yep i do have climate control but this happens even when set to off

Had a constantly running fan on mine just before the warranty ran out. Had it looked at and the under bonnet loom had corroded - done on warranty and no problems since.
