Parking Sensors

Featured Replies

The parking sensor On my 2005 Octavia 1.9TDI do not work. When reverse is selected a continuous tone sounds for about 3 seconds and the display of the cars outline flashes up momentarily on the radios display but the sensors do not operate. My mechanic say that his computers shows all sensors as faulty which cannot be right.

There must be a control panel somewhere for the sensors. Anyone know where it is or is there a wiring diagram available? Any help much appreciated

Think the control module is behind the rear side panel trim near to where the CD changer is. Pull back the side carpet and it should be under there somewhere.

Hi,Towserdog

I was Interested to read your post, it`s identical to what i`m experiencing.

I`d appreciate any info if you resolved the problem and what was the cause.

Thanks

I would be interested too as I have this identical problem. I had the paint protection applied and thought that could be linked to the problem.

Taking it back to the garage that sold me the car this weekend with a couple of other niggles.

Hi, Croxton 2001,

To date I`ve not solved the problem but what is interesting is after a 40 mile round trip they started to work!!.

I can only put it down to things like connectors drying out as it was a dry day, next day rain they stopped working and so on.

Ok on dry days after run fail on wet days.

If it is water ingress into sensor connectors then how do I access these as the rear bumper appears to have some sort of cover in front of it underneath

Is it easy to remove? I don`t know. I`ll have a look when the weather improves.

By the way I considered the sensors controller, seems to be in excess of £100 for this "ouch".

Found where it is located though, behind the boot lining on the nearside wheel arch, not easy to get at.

Sorry I couldn`t help with a fix, hope you have better luck.
