Featured Replies

Hey all.

Just wondering if anybody knows if its possible to put a multifunction steering wheel into a 2011 octavia vrs. I tried to order it with the car but was told it wasnt an available option.

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

Can only spec mfsw with a Vrs dsg. Even the dealer says he can't think why they done this as it can be spec in the other octavia non Vrs manual models. Perhaps someone on here might know the reason behind this?

MFSW only on DSG - period. Stupid Skoda marketing limitation - Audi - four rings on the bonnet, four grand on the price but you do get the option of MFSW on manual cars!

Contact Ben at Shark Performace. He can fit you a MFSW either a Skoda one or a nice Scirocco one. I know it seems a bit odd to do this on a new car but it's the only option I'm afraid........unless you want a DSG (which is lovely anyway!)

Fit it yourself. Its easy, you don't need to pay anyone to do it.

I bought my MFSW for my manual VRS from www.skodateile.cz and I'll be fitting it myself when the car is delivered on 1st March.

Remember you will need to replace your steering controller as well.

There are two types, "slot" and "ring".

"Ring" should be on newer cars....mine has one for example. However I know of people with cars manufactured after mine which are still using the slot-in type.

To the OP - So you'll need to replace steering module and steering wheel and have it all coded.

Certainly possible to DIY and then to find someone with VCDS - I went for the "Purchase parts myself, get someone to fit it for me" option, which Shark were happy to do.

I assume you will also be replacing the controller and have VCDS then?

I doubt the OP has VCDS so Shark seems the most appropriate option.

Yes.

He might have it, or have access to it.

As the OP is in Ireland I doubt traveling to England is the most appropriate solution for him.

DIY and save some money. I thought that was the idea behind sharing info on forums?

Hi OP...(im in Dublin too) I looked into this last year and all i could find was to get it done in the UK unless you have all the bits and very confident in your abilities!! :)
